Made by these people.

Clayton Engineering - Talus MB-4H

Amazing bits of kit - the early ones were based on Countys (not sure if they still are or not). They have a stainless steel grill underneath which the engine coolant pumps through, cooling the engine with seawater when the hatches are closed covering the radiator. Simple idea but shows the attention to detail. If they get stuck I believe they can close all the hatches and let the tide come in over them, and then recover at low tide.

But they do cost in the region of 300k I believe.

The one I built (page 105 of this thread) could also be 'sealed up"

I did it at the end of the trials in the pics and waited 6 hrs for the tide to drop, then checked all the cavities for water before restarting, handing it over and getting paid around 35K. I was only going to be paid if it restarted.

Good link, thanks. Love the look of the track version running a CAT v8 power pack to run the hydraulic tracks. They can survive being abandoned in up to 9m of water till low tide.

Got to take my hat off to the blokes who go out for the rnli in all conditions to help outhers. We gave a decent donation but would have loved to see a lornch just to hear the beast fire up.

Mega! I remember reading that when you first posted it - I love the pressurised axles and gearbox, what a superb idea!
