Even the head mechanic at Nissan in Edinburgh said that they weren't well built. If you are one of the lucky ones who has not had major issues, it is more a case of good fortune than them being fit for purpose. Had I had to pay for all of the warranty work undertaken with my Navara, I'd be out of pocket upwards of £10k.

I've had a work double cab Navara for 6 years.

Think it's the Renault engine.

Other than a heater matrix being replaced at 20K it's been a good truck.

It's currently got 130,000 on the clock and still going strong.

Regularly do 200 + miles a day in it,it pulls boats, horse boxes and works off road.

Will sit on motorway at 80 all day,or drive up to N Wales on little roads with plenty poke.

Far better than the two previous Defender TD5 's which were always in for repair and 1/2 the price.

The drivers seats a bit worn, other than that no issues.

My last double cab Diesel 4wd D22 gave me 7 years of faultless hard work, 250,000kms when sold and I thought it would do near that again.

Now got a 2013 d22, double cab, its great but at 53k its unproven. But last week we were using it to load the truck using a spar pole. Loaded about 90 logs this way

My mates 2008 Navara just stopped the other day . Timing chain came off , took the cover off and found most of the cogs had teeth missing .

Full service history and only 71k on the clock .

He was also telling me the RAC man told him he he'd just recently attended a 2007 model with the chassis broken in two due to rust . AVOID !!
