I'm with Paul though I would still call it SRT I don't understand why it has to be called any thing else ... To me it all falls in the same category for work positioning or ascent.

Any thing else is just complicating some thing that's simple and does not really need any other name.

The best practices for SRT in arboriculture was I thought a good bench mark. If it was called best practice for srwp in arboriculture it would just complicate it but that's just me...

I think they all need to have their own specific names to avoid confusion.

Call it what you like when you're on the ground having a team chat but in the training and legal environment there must be accuracy to avoid grey areas.

But it does make it confusing ... It's all SRT to me ... I find it hard to grasp if you were having a team chat or put in a risk assessment surely it would be easier just to say I'm going to work position SRT than say I'm going to ascend SRT then

DRT, DdRT, SRT, SRWP, TRT, TtRT it's just confusing, majority of people in tree work don't know what they are (my self included !) and just want the easiest way to get the job done not be confused by a load of acronyms They don't know are or really care are , that's my point of view as I just use SRT to get a job done more efficiently and it certainly does but it put me off learning it for a long time as its made out to be over complicated when it's not and that's not helped by a load of different names for things.

I'd be interested to see how many employed people are allowed to use it in the work place and how many go against the rules and use it at their discretion?

 

 

Sadly I think the only way we would know for sure is sadly someone going to court over it. There's no history of it happening so, it's all best guess at what will happen.
