I've got a gun dog training dummy launcher

Uses 22 long blanks

Lobs dummy 50 yards - thought it would break my wrist first time I used it

Could that not be modified?

It's pretty pants in comparison to the APTA launcher.. I modded one with a lead head of 12 or 14 0z with out any weight in the head it just ricochets all over the place and you can't get it down! With weight it's still clumsy!

What sort of psi are you using in your launchers Ben and dmc ? And what height would be your average

Does anybody have a definitive answer to how firearms legislation might apply to using these in the UK?

Air rifles have limitations. That will be where to find the legislation.

Made a launcher for full bake bean tins etc as a kid. Can’t remember the tubing we sourced but it was just loose enough that a very small amount of petrol was put to the sealed end (but for the touchhole) followed by the tin. A flame at the touchhole and the tin went up to three hundred yards.
Was relatively quiet too - like a bazooka[emoji23]
Think nowadays in this nanny state plod wouldn’t appreciate it.

I’ve a firearm license tbh. That’s the rifles max fill. It flattens most pellets as they leave the barrel so I run it as 14lb.

sounds a good way to be picking pieces of metal out of yourself or worse....have messed around with bird scarer bangers a fair bit when I was a lad but petrol can be very nasty...
