Those look like Saburr Tools stuff, grinding burrs. If so, yes. i use them a lot for chainsaw-carving (mainly for detailing work) and they are superb

not cheep but fantastic.

i use the doughnut shaped one for smoothing mainly, benches and the like. The others i use for cleaning up details after i have used the saw

I've got the extra coarse orange donut one. Handy to have, Easy to clean the bit with wire brush, takes a wee bit of getting used to and keep away from the balls as it would be even more painful than veet.

Toolpost were good to deal with as well, got some pink grinding stones from them too.

I've got some redwood I milled for a table but wanted to remove the odd tooth grove before belt sanding. As well as finishing off some timber i convert into benches.

reddwood should belt sand quite easily so before buying one of the burrs i'd give it a crack with a coarse grit belt first.

be nice to see some pics when finished...

Yes ^^ The burrs are too strong for that job. They're more for shape-making than flattening. You'll end up with low spots.

A decent smoothing plane can achieve pretty good end results with a sharp blade, correctly set. With dry timber, you get a close-to-mirror finish that sanding will never give.
