Answering questions isn't hammering is it?

Report it.

Seemed a tad aggressive to me.

Anyway back too the point,if you feel passionatly about it then do something about it.

The problem with these sort of threads, and im not saying its a bad thread,is you will get as much advice one way as another and at the end you'll end up more cofused than when you started.

Ive seen lots of cowboys, bad practice bad tree work etc.

Ive also seen some guys/gals with no qualifications but a **** load of experience who are really proffesional and do top notch work.

Qualifications aint the end all be all ye know

To be fair, I think what the lad is getting at is that he's paid good money to play by the rules, and others have given eBay a tenner and pretend to play by the same rules, he's not slating experienced lads who don't necessarily have tickets.

It pisses me off as well tbh, but every gyppo round here says 'Fully qualified and insured'.

Show your tickets at quotation stage and hope the customer asks the next guy. Some of them probably don't give a toss and just want the cheapest price.

Remember you choose your customers as much as they choose you.

It's fighting a loosing battle I think. I carry a file when I go and quote jobs, has copies of all my Certs, insurance details, CHAS etc. But in reality it's all easy to fake if you're that way inclined. I doubt there would be many customers (domestic) who would bother to check if they were legitimate.
