i have a 4way on my hakkipilke with 7 ton splitter....its only any good on straight stuff, i certainly wouldnt put a 6 way on it. i always have mine set on the 2 way

 

Exactly the problem I had on my very short learning curve with it

If you put 12" timber through and use the four way often the timber hits the splitter to high and you end up with two brick size pieces on the bottom and two breeze blocks on the top. I have a 2x is it the same with the other pilkis

I have a 6 way on my hakki 1x37 and its fine with all hard wood as long as its nice and straight. any pieces of wood that look a bit knurly ie where a limb has been cut off i just take the ring out of the splitting shut until i swap back to the 4 way knife. but im only using bought in straight stuff not arb wood:001_smile:

Got a jappa 700 and it does the job its a 2002 model and we made a few small mods.

The updated jappa has a thickicker blade and no frame over the top almost the same as the dalen imo.

I did see that one advertised, i gave davies implements a call and hopefully they have a hakki pilke 1x 37 coming in so i am going to see what that is like. I had a measure around my log pile and only a few bigger pieces are over 37 cm so it seems a goodd machine. You all have them by the looks of it anyway!!!!!!

 

My groundy broke my log splitter yesterday, so out comes the welder again today!!!
