I can work in sillymeters Bolam :001_smile: There is a sheet of inch thick road plate here that I have hacked into, if you would like a lump of that I will cut a bit off for you. Send a large stamped addressed envelope and I will post it off to you .

Just wondering if your actually responsible for a man hole cover in the first place?. I would think that be the the local utilities obligation to fix or replace?.

Not of use to you, but a couple of days ago I was in a utility company yard(kosher!) the scrap skip was full of manhole covers of various sizes. I was thinking there will be someone wanting one why waste em?

6mm with angle iron tacked to the end dimensions of the hole on two sides.

More interestingly how did the pickup scramble out. Did someone have to actually use 4wd in a real world scenario here?

10T from Amazon £68.00 delivered. Or from other places online, including TP.

Thanks mate, much cheaper than I thought.

I might just go for a cover and frame and do it in one hit, like Dan first suggested.

But where's the fun in that?

Well that bit of info clears things right up. Just contact your local foundary with the dimensions and I bet you can even get it delivered:thumbup1:
