Me too looking ! My hursqarna left me 2 week ago and there is no possibility to buy a new. All advice Stihl .. But what to do .I want to risk and choose a budget model. I hope it will work a couple of years.Sure I m not going to get a battery-powered trimmer couse I have about 1/2 of an acre and its imposible for that

Since the OP has already purchased I'll just make some comments for other people looking..

 

Bought a Stihl FS90 cow horn model years ago, as below this model you don't get a solid drive shaft.

 

Love the quiet and gutsy 4-mix engine. A true delight to use.

 

However I also bought a much larger Kawasaki brushcutter which is a lot more powerful and feels more aggressive.

 

I now have added a smaller Kawasaki loop handle jobbed for light weight versatility.

 

The Echo seems worth a try by the comments above.

Echo srm 520 replaced it with a fs 460 won't ever go back to stihl again

 

 

My bad no I had a 460 before replaced with a 520 echo and the echo feels like a much better machine , also have a 420 echo which is just as good as the 520
