Which hedging material?

I am providing a quote to a customer for a site clearance close by to me. I have been asked to advise on a hedging material, evergreen which can be planted close enough to one another to make an instant hedge...red robin has been a suggestion- any other thoughts? It's an 18m stretch which he wants solid straight away and 2.4m high..., many thanks,

Cherry laurel or Thuja species would be a good start. Personally photinia might look a bit sparse as it takes a bit longer to thicken than the Cherry laurel in my neck of the woods.

cherry laurel grows pretty quick, can be bought at 1.5mtrs height and is reasonably priced. its possible to get leylandii at 2mtrs plus to give an instant hedge but you'll pay much more.
