Hi,

This is my first post of here so I'll say a little about myself to start :001_smile:

I'm based in the north east and I run my own firewood company called Newlands Firewood Supplies with my brother. We've been going for 5 years now starting with an axe and a chainsaw in year one selling ~£1000 worth of logs and now on to a harvester and processor with a few machines between selling a heck of a lot more! :big grin:

Anyway, Ive just set up my website complete with online store and would love to get some feedback from you lads. Especially since you know what you're talking about when it comes to firewood!

Thank you,

James

Hi James, First off welcome to the forum.

I looked whilst my phone. When looking on it I noticed if you click on the various products you offer, click on say hardwood, it opens a pale grey screen with white writing. It's hard to read. Maybe keep your deep grey background and white or black text rather than white on pale grey? would be far easier to read.

On the whole your site is nice and simple, easy to navigate, not too much detail people aren't fussed about but enough to show you care about what you do. Just change the background or text on the firewood page.

Best of luck to you and your business.

James, I honestly think the website is perfect. Nice and simple, the pictures present your product in a very clean and clear fashion. Nice and tidy stacking too!

I would perhaps state the approximate volume of your bags. i.e is it a 0.75 m3 load or is is a 1.2 m3 load.

Nice bass pro hat too, best shop in the world!

Cheers for the feedback lads. Thats made my day! Ive amended the product background issue.. the design wasn't transferring properly to the mobile version but its all sorted now.

Ill look to calculate volumes this week and add to the information.

Im hoping to start an article section in the coming weeks to help customers decide what they need/want and to simply understand firewood a little better.

Again, thanks for your replies. Much appreciated!

All the best,

James

Welcome to the site, congratulations on getting the business up and running. It's a nice website you have, only thing I would change is in the shop either state a size or even better have a picture where it says hardwood and softwood.

Out of curiosity do you sell much softwood? No-one seems to want it where we are.

Cheers mate,

sizes are coming!

We do pretty well with softwood up here, selling roughly double the amount of hardwood. We find that people are usually scared into buying hardwood from the stove sellers/fitters, but once we explain that properly seasoned softwood will not damage their chimney and can also be just as good as hardwood (needs depending) they are usually willing to give it a go.

All the best,

James
