Thanks for the advice. See that Dolmar is made by Makita, so can't be bad.

Thats not strictly true...Dolmar are a German saw maker of Long ! standing and Makita had/have there blue versions made by them. The Dolmar orange /red/...Black saws are all Dolmar. Mikita i believe are now the parent company but its NOT Makita who make Dolmar...Other way round. I might not be 100% right , others will chime in I'm sure .:biggrin:

but now I see that the new ps-32 has some sort of "tool less chain tensioning facility" which looks a bit mickey mouse and people say doesn't stay tight. <<sigh>>

 

You can have normal chain tensioner or the TLC version :thumbup::thumbup:

Correct. It's a Dolmar product, not Mak.
