Ever seen a fab web forum done by a subby climber?

But I know what you mean if your naff at it leave it to an expert.

But there are some sites are there done by experts with their name in the bottom corner. The content can be horrendous, you can tell they know naff all about what they have put together.

It's like buying a Chinese or Eastern European item with instructions phonetically translated to English.

Looks real un pro!

Plus if you make your own site. It can be changed, instead of that dated 1997 poplar dismantle with 90s gear, you can put your shiny new kits first outing on the web.

A firm I drive for use a 13 old photo in the local advertiser papers, when they have had two brand new trucks in the last year????

Once you have a site built you only need a little HTML knowledge to maintain a site so updates shouldn't be much bother. Having said that, its not about having the latest kit and on a website, that's what youtube is for. Most sites are about getting enquiries and that means conveying the 3 W's.

Who you are

Where you are

What you do

SEO work can often be kept to a minimum because tree work tends to be geographically limited and doesn't travel well. Enquiries from somewhere "out of your area" aren't much good.

haha, thanks for the compliment. I know my limits however. The ideas are mine and I do as much of it as I can myself, but I do sub out the more technical elements to people who are more cut out for the job than me.

In answer to the OP though, get a copy of wordpress and take a bit of time learning it. Its very versatile and you can get something half decent looking up in no time once you have the hang of it.
