Lidl?

Didn't need a new hose but my old gauge was knackered. Was in Lidl and saw a set with blower and gauge plus lots of adaptors for £8 or so presumed it must be rubbish but gave it a go. Works great and gauge seems accurate. They had hoses for sale at the same time.

No recommended brand, but get one that locks onto the valve without having to hold it with a decent amount of hose between the valve and the gauge.

Inflating is much easier when you can stand upright, but more importantly you can position yourself out of the danger zone. (have a look on YouTube for some funny vids on just how much stored energy is released when a tyre blows)

Buy a PCL and be done with it. I had a few cheapos over the years and they are all junk. Bought the aluminium bodied PCL but beware it does come in two flavours; push on valve connector and clip on valve connector.

Personal preference but I have the clip on one.

Hear, hear! I have a PCL mk2, having had the crappy supermarket one that fell to bits and went back, and a Draper. Clip on PCL is easily the best.

Not too far off topic, can anyone recommend a retractable hose that doesn't cost a fortune?

I'm bloody sick of hose coils cluttering my workshop. Takes up more room than the compressor!

I have one I bought in Aldi that contains about 10m of hose. It's the same as the more expensive Clarke ones. Cost about £24 and still fine over a year later.
