Thanks for the answers only found it yesterday been clearing laurels and Rhodies and we have let a bit of light into the western side of the garden the foliage is faded compared to other copper beeches

But approx 120yds away in the parkland there is a pair of mega beeches one is looking well but the bigger one the foliage cover is only 50% but there isn't any fungi around it at all
