It is yes it's ok to be fair as soon as it's done though I'll probably be asking for suggestions on here of what people prefer with there ZZ. Don't want to buy a new rope now knowing this 1 will be sat there never to be used it would just seem a waste.

Has no one tried a petzl double hand ascender above the zz and a pantin.

I havnt tried it yet but imagine it will be good.

Ill post back when ive had a go.

Yes this is what I do ...

Waste of energy though now I've seen the versatility of the hitch hiker , which is for another thread I suppose :001_smile:

Use a narrower diameter line to get the most out of the zig zag.

There are many ropes but I am sure someone will suggest Blue Tongue.

Cue, Silky.

Yeah I've heard that but only ever used 13mm and more tempting to buy a zz if can use it effectively with what I've already got/ used to and not have to spend another £120+ on a new rope

I coupled my zig zag with a knee ascender and foot ascender setup. On the old pantins just put a regular sized carabiner through the hole under the cam to stop the rope coming out. It's smaller steps compared to the haas system, but uses both legs instead of one. Like walking up stairs!

13mm is fine after all the ZZ is made to handle 11-13mm it may not be as efficient but it works well for me and as I have said I'll move too 11.7 when this rope needs changing I really hate waste so 13mm it is for now.......
