US Bucket Trucks

Would a Ford F550 or Dodge Ram with a 30 or 40 foot Altec or similar be of much benefit?? Has anyone used any for standard trimming, removals or work? They seem to be good value for money. It could be used for switch out work on some line clearance work too... any feedback apreciated!

there are very few trees we work on that you would be able to get access for a bucket truck.

If I got a bucket truck I would see it as an added bonus rather than my main means of access and making money!

On the right jobs I bet they save hours!

Hedges, roadside work is what I was thinking. It's a lot dearer than climbing but should have near the same advertising value as a mog?

the company i work for has a 2013 4x4 iveco up for grabs with a brand new bucket boom on it if anybody is interested its been lying in stock for a while i think it was a cancelled order

I have a landy with a mewp on and it is actually quite good advertising as it stands out a bit as well as being very useful and a huge time saver with the added bonus that it can tow the chipper or grinder to site if we'd needed a 2nd vehicle to go for that anyway.

The defenders look great, but for the same money you can buy a very high spec American truck. Just thinking about it at the moment. Unimog are rarely used to even a fraction of there potential here!
