Last Sugi bar Light bar on a 540 lasted about 3 months before the sprocket imploded so back to the techlites for me, if I can get 8 month out a bar I'm happy.

I found the Techshite de laminated within 2 weeks . Started throwing chains . Looked at the the bar and could see right through it .

The only way you'll get 8 months from the techlite is if you buy yourself a 201 and leave the husky in the lockup!

I've had over 12 months use out of one ... I've had 4 bars on that saw from new, one of them being a Sugi that was the most expensive and lasted the least... Found it quite easy to get life out of the original bar just don't use it as a felling leaver or get it caught in falling branches I think they are a really nicely balanced bar as well, unlike the Sugi.

I had high hopes for it! Tbh I'm not sure I would buy another for any saw they look great but hamper performance by being over weight and unwieldy, had to take one off my 560 as you could really notice it production felling , the weight difference snedding over a Oregon pro lite flicking it around it had to come off, great for Arb work though would of probably lasted the saws life time.

Was it just the one bar our had you tried a few?

I also meant to mention husky are bringing out a new type of bar called the x force. We have quite a lot on order but I'm not sure when they are available and if they are doing one for the 540,oso probably some useless information from me.:laugh1: it's tougher, has more teeth on the nose sprocket and sealed bearings so no grease hole.

Hi Mark I had 2 Techlite . First fell apart within 2 weeks . Replaced under warranty by my very good dealer . Second not much longer replaced by my dealer with the older , stronger bar that was standard fitment on 338/335 etc . I bought a Sugi for pure vanity just so all my saws were running the same

The TechLite bar on ours lasted about a year. It gradually got softer and softer though until just knocking it into a branch would bend it! It's now wearing an oregon pro lite. No complaints.

Got a pro lite on my 441 and ported 357 and it's fine.

My 550 has a Sugi and it definitely wears less than the rest. Tried to dress the bar rails after a fair bit of use and not only did it not need doing, the file didn't wanna touch the steel, just skipped across!
