silly situation realy but it is what it is

The problem (or good news depending on your point of view) with all the massive chippers about is that they can justify paying the same price on any diameter wood whereas firewood costs increase drastically when you have to split it down so it would be hard to justify not selling it for biomass to be honest.

Not a bad couple of weeks cutting, had to get through a lot of small stuff but we're on nice ash now and it's flying through.

We're a bit slow on sales but we're still cutting plenty. Was just about getting up the hill in the snow yesterday. ?

 

On a side note we just finished cutting 175 ton of smaller diameter (average 10inch) beech and ash and it made 310cube when dry if that's of interest to anyone.
