When buying my MB Tracs advice given was to go for the 6 cylinder engine as it is standard in Merc trucks and check out the gearbox as it can be the achilles heel. If you dont buy it I would also be very interested

It's only the engine BLOCK that is the same as the truck engine.

The engine BLOCK for 4 cylinder engine in the 900, was also fitted in a 7.5 tonne truck.

I seem to remember the 900 is 90hp ok in the forest but will struggle if you try to haul timber on a trailer on the road. With a bigger engine you tend to change gear less which in turn saves the gearbox.

Still weighing up my options between this or a new alpine tractor which i can run a good flail for doing scrub cleareance and still run a good winch.

There is no 3 point linkcage which has put me of a bit because it will be hard to make it pay for its self with just a winch and grab, where as the alpine i can do topping and flailing for rich horsey people and still use it on the railway. Plus i can tow it on the back of my truck!

Swings and roundabouts

Anyway its not available till December so i dont have to rush. If im not interested i will let you have his phone number by email.
