just wondering about, would a second hand one of these be cheaper than a second hand valtra with roofmount? just generally

it all depends mate, a lot of roof mounts are brandnew stuck on old tractors, so they are pretty expensive. they are hard to pick up and dont come on the market very often. i wasnt even selling mine when i was approached to sell it, and it was at the higher end of the price scale.

ah right, yeah i thought a lot of the patu and botex cranes i had see looked pretty new on the tractor, haha its my dream to own a valtra with roofmount, but for now im just gunna keep looking for a cheap 4wd tractor of my own

I cant remember the model buzz but it came from jas p with forestry guarding and a double drum winch on the back, great for pulling timber out and on its own was fine, but i never liked it with the trailer on it extracting timber i preferred the MB.

Roof mounts don't have the reach i found when i owned my own Valmet. Having said that it was the single best bit of kit i ever owned lol

i have driven an mb trac quite a bit in agricultural work my opinion is that yes it can be good machine but also has its bad points too but like everything has. like already mentioned parts expensive and can be expensive when breakdown, the steering lock on them is rubbish and that's in a field or road i wouldn't be enthusiastic driving it in the woods etc, also found them a bit temperamental at times, also hydraulic pump is a weakness if its called upon a lot used to replace it yearly!!

Grraattee mb porn!!The only bad point i have experienced with the smaller models, under the gearstick there is a alloy bridge piece on the slector which can snap often.Not a problem with careful opp. Good kit, if you don`t buy it i would be interested mmm...in the mean time i`m off to dream, my girlfriend worries when i start about mb`s and unimogs:001_rolleyes:

When buying my MB Tracs advice given was to go for the 6 cylinder engine as it is standard in Merc trucks and check out the gearbox as it can be the achilles heel. If you dont buy it I would also be very interested
