Think the bearings went on my chipper today, white smoke, nasty sound, wont' turn over, even melted the nut cap near the roller motor. Bugger!

Anyone know how much it costs to have them replaced? probably take it to Tavistock.

give brandon hire a call in penzance , tell them i put you on to them and you will be able to get the parts there prety cheap , and if you need a fitter to do the work let me know and i can put you on to the guy that does nick berrymans tw150 , to be honest i would not take it to tavy because even if he is slightly cheaper the fuel you burn will cancel your saving out . any way give me a shout if you get stuck mate

I had the same thing about 2 years ago. The bearings were only around £20 if I remember right but it's the labour where the cost is.....

When I had a Chippit 25, which has the same bearing and rotor I believe, I change the bearings my self, with some technically help from TW down the phone.

I just had mine changed. I think it was about £80 labour and £20 parts at the local garage

:001_huh: At that price I would not bother getting my hands dirty!!!

Let them get on with it!!!:thumbup1:
