Tipper stopped working

Started to tip the back of my transit this morning and after going up a couple of inches it just stopped and won't do anything now. Interestingly an led light on the back that I had never worked suddenly started flashing at the same time and I can't turn that off now without taking a fuse out.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Sounds likes it's got an earth/ shorting issue going on.

From my extremely limited knowledge! While looking into converting mine I found that some manufacturers seem to have a 'mega' fuse near the battery and a smaller fuse on the wiring to the control. Check both of these then that's me beat!

I checked both fuses which are fine and tipper still nut working but the led light has now stopped flashing!

Get under with a wire brush and clean the contacts, then check charge and contacts on the battery.

Presumably you have some sort of solenoid in the main circuit to run the pump. Put a live feed to the small terminal on this to prove whether it's the control or power circuit. Bypass things to prove them and work through the circuits.

You haven't knocked an emergency stop button somewhere?

give tipper its own earth to test, jump lead from battery to earth on tipper, disconnect one on truck first. if that works then much cleaning up of earth points and then seal up to keep water out in order.

Turned out to be a dodgy wire at the control box in the cab.

Obviously an easy and thankfully cheap fix but took a while to find.
