Would you want a 3/8 carving bar and chain

 

Or a 1/4 sprocket and 1/4 bar and chain

 

And size 10" bar or 12" bar :thumbup::thumbup:

Erm new to carving with a proper carving bar so don't know 12" 3/8 I guess saves me changing sprocket when I used the other bar.

Ian, if you're going down the 3/8 lopro route you are limited to a quarter tip bar. If you want a finer tip for detail you'd be better off with a dime tip bar but yes you would need to run 1/4 carving chain and would have to change sprockets.

No problem Andrew, out of interest are the sprockets over or under the clutch on these saws? If over then not too much faffing to swap between 3/8 and 1/4 bars/chain.

The sprockets are over the clutch drum one circlip and washer and your done very quick :thumbup::thumbup:

Does that include the 3410?
