Yeah your right they are supposed to carry an alpine tractor on the load bed, then when you get to site unload the tractor and off into the woods you go. It's a very versatile set-up whichever way you use it.

I generally use it behind the Landy delivering bags of wood or bringing back timber from site. I also attach it to the compact tractor for round the yard shifting wood to the processor. It's also great for stacking and shifting brash with the grab.

That's 1 of my thoughts at the moment using the digger but means you always have to make a trip back to site to collect the machine or run a second vehicle.

If I'd seen one for a sensible 2nd hand price I'd definitely be tempted, you were lucky for sure!

Think this looks a nice set up from Germany.

What's the name of the firm who makes the 1 in the picture?

We looked at the Muldy 3500 during Agritechnica, Germany, back in November but from memory prices started around 18,000 euro I think.

Very well built trailers and good design though.

The major disadvantage of the tipping option is weight and carrying capacity. We have only built one because the customer insisted but the more options you add, the less you can legally carry

£14k is strong money, build one yourself, tri axle trailer helps with the nose weight, bolt a crane on and power pack couple of bolsters and jobs a good un :001_smile:

you could make the crane detachable so you could put it back on the small forestry trailer for behind a quad

Looking to purchase one of these or similar if another supplier pops up ready for the new tax year. Thou 12k inc vat is my limit. 10x5 caged sides and I'm not botherd about tipping

A few reasons are back issues and the council say I cant use my yard gates for vehicle access thou I can unload so lifting big chunks over the fence would be spot on

I did think about buy a ifor, then a jussi timber trailer and bust it open and build one, however I've a car sat in my garage for 15year I've not finished so buying new / built makes sense
