I need some help finding a small piece of woodland to rent to setup a

'Forest School'. For those not au fait with Forest Schools, we take children into the woods and reconnect them with nature- use basic hand tools, learn about nature, woodlands, ecosystems, respecting the environment- all the things that we all do on arbtalk really (minus the chainsaws!)

I am looking for a suitable piece of woodland around Ashford in Kent, so Hamstreet, Tenterden, Sissinghurst, Pluckley, Egerton, Faversham, Canterbury, Herne Bay- any of those kind of areas.

Does anyone on here own, manage or work in any woodland in any of these places, and could put me in touch with landowners. We would be aiming to build long term relationships with landowners, pay a reasonable amount of rent, and take on some of the management/daily care of the woodland that we use.

Anyone able to help?

Why not find your ideal woods then find out the owner? You can speak to the land registry to find out owners of land.

Failing that you could approach the "Men of the Trees"(aka International Tree Foundation), the local branch of the Royal Forestry Society, or the big land agents like Knight Frank/ Tillhill etc.

Been looking all over for somewhere suitable- best results seem to come from a known contact, tather than a random enquiry through the land registry. Its also very difficult to suss out a suitable area, when there is no public access, so having a recce is tricky. Any and all leads welcome.
