A customer showed me a net of "Real Logs" he had bought from a garage - softwood about 6 inches long but huge chinks, moisture content over 50% and full of wood worm holes!!!

I have about 200 nets of softwood which was sitting full of wood wasp larvae, didn't look at them this year but think ill be burning it myself as nobody is after softwood round here.

Answer to softwood - make these...

This 1 is no more than 7" diameter and 12"tall for £8 spotted in cotswolds in Newcastle today, getting the label printed probably cost more than the timber.!

50p a log is a bargain compared to what I just seen on a free ad site,it would seem if you can "well preserve" your log and call it "decorative",the value rockets.

Here`s the ad...

"I have 19 cut logs that are 8" in diameter and approximately 3" thick.

We used these for our table decorations for our wedding. They are well preserved and made a beautiful addition to the centre-piece for each table at our recent wedding.

I am looking for around £5 per cut, but I will also consider other offers.

Collection only. "

They are not even smooth,no sanding or planing just easy money.
