These are the only things putting me off. I can drive a 7.5t and would come in so handy just seems crazy having all the extra cost of op licence checks tacho just to save a chip run or 6

 

 

If you don't go more than 50km from your base and driving is not the main activity then you can be exempt from having to use tachos.

There is an exemption form to print off and fill in before the mot and present it to the tester.

I hadn't heard of this one, do you have to never go more than 50k from base or just use a disc when you do ?

Its 100Km radius now.

 

Thats correct unless your in the shows man's guild! (I kid you not) cpc is not needed as your not a professional driver.

Just looked up the exemption, sadly it is only up to 7500kg. However do we fit into number 17 on this list ?

I believe we do Billy but for the sake of a minute a day and having a drivers cpc is it worth having a bun fight with uninformed Vosa or traffic plod at the side of the road ?

I'm lucky , I got paid to take my ( old HGV 1) in the army and I'd never driven a car in my life ,straight in a class 1 and of I went passed ,1st time after 3 days as a learner ! Still a crap driver though !
