Hello loggers! Is there any legalities I need to be aware of if I'm selling firewood?

Any regulations to follow? Certification ect

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thread running a short while back about " what is a load " , towing weights licenses etc etc . Put in a search .

Always sell by volume. Get a moisture metre. Have some liability insurance. And good luck.

But if your selling it on side as a little extra earner I don't think you'll need all that?

Weights and measures act maybe

was just about to mention that, try reading trading standards thread on page 2 doesn't seem to be an issue in Englandshire yet even if the same rules apply.

Not really a regulation but in our area the competition ring up on a with held no and ask questions only someone in the trade would ask. When you have had enough fun ask them where they live and how much they use in a winter the phone will go dead.

I'd like to do it all legit and not risk a visit from the tax man. What would I need to insure against? I just want to make sure no ones going to come and tell me I can't sell logs or something silly. So if I tick all the boxes I can't go wrong. In theory.
