'Cos he's the only one that has worked out how to make money out of being a bloody physicist.

Funny that, I thought he had made his money in a career as a TV presenter (Following his brief rock star career)

Absolutely - presenter of a physics show due to him being a renown physicist (in the physics world) and being presentable - bloody genius.

Yes but you cited him as the only and compared him to Einstein. That's hardly a fair comparison given that Einstein didn't have the "benefit" of TV and the internet.

Then you go on to compare possibly the greatest thinker of our time with a has been pop star and now media personality. Cox isn't famous for much except as a media personality (which he does well) where as Einstein gave us scientific fundamentals such as E=mc2

I suspect the genius you refer to might just be Mr Cox's agent.

Yea ! I use E=mc2 nearly every day

Well its a universal constant so you do use it even if you don't realise it.

It is a concept anyone cutting trees will be familiar with even if they cant put a name to it.

Feel explanation required: firstly was being somewhat tongue in cheek suggesting that Einstein wasn't that clever. But to clear another thing up Dr Brian Cox is in fact a renowned Physicist in his specialism of Quantum Mechanics - Quarks, Highs Bosun etc - and Would point out to you that E=mC² fails at the Quantum level. Einstein himself knew his theory was imperfect but had no idea why. Dr Brian Cox ALSO as a by-the-way once was in a crap band AND happens to have been approached by TV to work on a science series because he knows what he is talking about and is able to present it in a way that ordinary mortals can understand.

About the Agent - Good point, well made:biggrin:

I agree Brian is a good bloke, he then is from Oldham after all. He is a good presenter but then he has that showbiz background
