CS38 & 39, training in or around mid Sussex?

I'm looking at getting my 38 and 39 done at some point after Christmas. Does anyone know of or can recommend someone in or around mid Sussex. Based near haywards Heath. I know there is plumpton just wondering if there is anywhere else.

Scott Fraser is the best Instructor for Aerial Tree work in your area by a country mile in my opinion.

 

He has a training centre based at Lamberhurst, Kent/Sussex border.

 

Should be easy to locate on the net, scottfrasertraining should do it.

As above, Scott Fraser is well respected in the training game. I did my chipper ticket with him so I can't comment on the climbing side but couldn't fault him 👍🏻

I did my 41 and LOLER with Scott Fraser he is very good and goes into more detail/scenarios than just what the syllabus says you should know. Highly recommended

Have a look on the Lantra Website under 'AWARDS' then search on 'Chainsaw maintenance' to bring up the list of courses and qualifications. You can then filter the list of training providers by area and travelling distance (Provider search | Lantra)

Unless things have dramatically improved I wouldn't bother with Brisbury.

Long list of gripes - many years back I had to use my own saw on the CS31 AND share it with another candidate on the course!

 

Some of the instructors are good but if you have a choice I'd go for Plumpton, or Merrist Wood at Guildford.

Funny you say that actually. I did my 30/31 there 12 years ago; one instructor was OK, one was very good but not mine and one - mine - just didn't want to be there.

Knowledge gained since suggests that I was taught the bare minimum - enough to pass the assessment.

But give the place a chance; that was years ago and the biggest issue was with one individual.
