One other thing to take in to consideration is the oil pump up to a 36 inch bar if so remember to wined screw out on oil supply.

Just a question to others running a 36 inch bar do you run skip chain.

395 is fine on a 3/8 36" standard chain ,have rang up 100's of tonnes of hard wood with it , nice fresh ash that gums up your chain is no bother .... Would say it's noticeably quicker than an 880 on a 36" as well last time I put them side by side.

Strange they don't do a 30" or 36" in 3/8, but as Stubby says just go .404 .063 and change the sprocket - less cutters to sharpen too!

Regards,

Steve.

It looks like Oregon has discontinued 36" bars in .058, and list them in .063 only by now.

I would look at a Tsumura or Sugihara Light in that length though, if I had the need for one (I don't).

I ordered an Oregon Powermatch 24" .063 for the 372 but had to get it from the States - only reason being I had a roll of .063 chain for the MS660 so it was cheaper than buying loops and the 24" Husqy is the same length as the 25" Stihl. (MS660 runs 25" and 36").

After all that I've decided the 372 shouldn't run more than 20" anyway!

Steve.
