Dmax issues where do I stand?

Where's normal level then?

Roughly what volume increase would you say? How long did it take you to cover 1,200 miles and what sort of driving.

There are other things that could be causing it. Leaking injectors or high pressure fuel pump?

Couldn't say how much it's gone up by volume just an inch on the stick. 1200 miles in 6-8 weeks of mixed driving from 4-10 mile short runs to 50 miles towing on dual.

Same problem happens with LR TD5? Fuel in oil... To check, touch dipstick on blue paper, see how fast the oil drop spreads, derv will spread out rapidly, lube oil less so. You might see some separation. Smell if you are nasally tuned enough. Think Shavey on here can tell you about cracked head causing same thing. Don't see why dpf should cause it.

Hi john is this to do with injectors John thanks Mendip

Sounds like the well documented problem to do with ACTIVE DPF regen in Euro 5/6 vehicles. Seems to affect some vehicles more than others. From what I have been reading the excess injected fuel (intentionally injected to cause REGEN) leaks past the rings, as expected, and dilutes the oil. You will need to change the engine oil PDQ otherwise it leads to engine problems. Sounds like you have a DPF issue... But then you knew that already:thumbdown:

This problem is quite well documented, Isuzu have buried their head in the sand which is what they did when they had problems with the old trooper 3ltr engine. If its on lease purchase I would park it up on the forecourt where it came from and tell them payments will be stopped until its repaired.

This my understanding of what is happening but could well be tosh stocksy.co.uk - Cars - Diesel Particulte Filters (DPF) and Rising Oil Levels - The UK Government Demonstrates the Law of Unintended Consequences

Was told the issues had all been sorted before I bought it and sadly it's all paid for.

Has it been in before about it ?

If it has you can probably return it under the sale of goods act.

You would probably be better off asking a solicitor who specialises in vehicle law.

If it was mine I would be looking at finding a way to return it.

Edit: is none of this modern day crap tested properly anymore ?

Not yet. Taken some persuading to even get them to look at it. If I get them to take it back would be a result. Will give them a chance to rectify it first but not holding my breath.
