Sweet. Just curious about the older / cheaper ones as if I were to invest in one it would be handy to run a log splitter off of it:)

 

 

Definitely use a pto pump on the smaller older ones. You can fit a SCV to even the 30 year old kubotas but not really worth it. If it was a large ram it would need to be double acting to have sufficient oil in transmission.

The pto pumps put just about all the power if the engine into hydraulics.

We use them on tree lifters. It takes the17hp kubotas up to around 40hp capability.

If you get someone who knows what they are doing you could use a higher volume pump gear and use less revs and fuel.

Remember you speaking of the timber trailer before. What does it handle well with your tractor - 3 tons loads?

 

Always liked the idea of a timber trailer with grab, particularly for use in the yard, loading processor etc. Does the grab work well for logging up oversize with a chainsaw?
