Firewood Processing Equipment Hire

I just wanted to pick your collective brains on an idea...

 

There are very often requests to hire firewood stuff on arbtalk and they usually get a good response from members. Problem is that within a forum format, the information soon gets lost in the mists of time and so similar requests keep being made.

 

My thought was to create a simple register of firewood processors and tools available to hire: Location + Tool Description + Contact Details on a static webpage.

 

I have roughed out a page at Firewood processing equipment for hire as an example.

 

I would be grateful for your thoughts on this; is it something that would be useful? Does it complement arbtalk or should it be left 'as is' within the arbtalk forum?

Hi there i thought of buying a processor to hire out but i had a very negative responce off a few members.i thought of hiring a hawk mobile prcessor out for £500 a week.without operator.i was going to charge the cost of my fuel to deliver and collect the machine.but people on here thought it was to much money.i have since had a re think and discussed it with my employee and we both agreed that it would be better to offer it @a1 monthly rate of £10002months£17503months£1500 and the cost of the fuel to deliver and collect.we will be placing a advert soon for a service with are firewood processor palax 600 mobile.this machine will only be available with myself operating it i will provide a laborer @extra cost if needed we are going to be providing this service for a minumum of 2days@£200a day 1man 2man team£250a day.and the cost of fuel to travel to and from place of work.the fuel cost for machine is included in price.do you think this is a good idea.

as long as the two man team works,,,then fair price....depends on your work ethics....I e,,,I work twice as hard as my workers left on there own,,,,,but i get twice the money,,hey ho,,,

Good idea me thinks. I own small lots of woodland here and there, so knowing where machines are available and who to contact would be great!

Put me on a list like that for sure; one reason I got a damn good portable riko machine was to be able to offer splitting at customers home or whatever.

I have two portable machines for cutting/splitting and hire them out with operator. Website looks like a good idea and I'd probably sign up for it

we would do 25 8 foot lengths an hour miniumum more if diammeter is 3to 7 inch ,we did a 8 hour day on it last week and we bagged 500nets the next day in 9hours we always put 12 logs minimum i are nets.
