I saw some 'premium' bags of hardwood logs outside b&q. All absolutely coated in thick white mould. I'd be embarrassed to try and palm off such shoddy products.

Was the same at aldi last year and they were selling a pallet load a day or more and on the label was something like softwood logs recommended for burning on open fires and stoves.

Aldi are currently selling plastic bags of kiln dried kindling for £1.99, about the cheapest i've ever seen. The same sized CPL product is £7.75 per bag in a nearby BP garage.

Stayed in Derbyshire at the weekend and lidl had plastic bags of logs and kindling ,looked OK stuff but both imported from Latvia.Thought they were trying to promote more british and local produce.

Just lost a customer because I refused to join the race to the bottom with smaller bags. He has bought a load of blazers kindling at £1.50 a bag and is retailing them at £2.50 unfortunately there only half the size of the bags sold by Aldi for £1.99 so I think he may have shot himself in the foot.
