Treemotion harness

A note on the Tree Motion Light for any one interested. I found the Tree Motion slipped when I had a large saw on, and generally didn't fit me too well. Although it looks just the same the material on the 'light' isn't the same , and I find it 'moulds' better , also I like that it does not have quick release (like the TM). However the attachment on the back is not for life support (unlike the TM).

Bad points of both TM's : lots of hanging bits.

Never had much problem with the hanging bits I've always cable tied or taped the excess stuff up unless you mean the "make a grown man cry" edition elastic bits that always manage to get hooked on fresh air just before you take that big step to the next limb

Python,

I agree not too much of a minus , not least given all the good parts (as The TM Light isn't quick release you just have to be a bit more creative in wrapping up the ends).

I just know for some they don't like all the 'stuff' (strap ends, holes, loops, elastic) around the place, in which case they will probably look at another harness.

The elastic however - as you say, makes a grown man cry.

Hi Jamie,

I have a love hate relationship with my TM. I hate all the loose flappy bits, it is a busy harness but it gives endless options to hang the Christmas decorations from :) I love having the lower D's. I love the fact it's a comfortable harness to sit in. I hate the fact that all of the custom gear loops were lost long ago in conifer jobs. I hate that I have to tighten it up so much to be able to hang a saw off it when really it is designed to be worn low on the hips. I love that everything on it is replaceable. I'll certainly take a good look at the competition before I buy another one, in some ways I really love it but in other ways it gets on my nerves.

I find my tree motion is really nice and comfy for recreational climbing/swinging about on nice big open trees, but I find a saw weighs it down and there are a lot of parts to get snagged. This is only my opinion though as I do utilities now and the trees are usually covered in ivy or surrounded by thorn.

Treemotion is definitely the comfiest harness I've tried but I nicked the bridge with my silky which put me off working in it. Should just be more careful putting my silky away really.

Now I use the treemotion for nice big smooth climbs and use my other harness (with a thicker bridge) for the messy stuff.
