Hilux? My 93 just keeps on going. Wings falling off, all the lights on the dash are on but it never stops. You can't kill them. Of the 3 cars I have (VW and Honda), if I had to get to Scotland (from Devon) tomorrow and my life depended on it, I would take the Hilux.

I hear on the grapevine that if you engine goes don't get a recon engine that is the same as the previous.

The one to go for is the 2.7 out of the Nissan Terrano. Only heard good things about this engine and apparently not too difficult to fit by someone who knows what they are doing.

The local used pickup sale place swaps out the engine for a 2.7 it save the warranty hassle he told me. Not sure how it'd work with insurance

Got an 05 D22 . Change the oil and filter every 6K religiously . Its never gone wrong . There was a bad batch of con rod bolts from a supplier . # 3 would let go. It was a small percentage of engines but it only needs a few for the word to spread . Mine has been totally reliable and my mates 04 put a rod through the side . Nissan dealer gave him a new engine .
