I'll order a set of each then and see how I go.

 

Would be great if i take to the cheaper ones as i class the teeth as throw away items anyhow. not really bothered about sharpening

the smaller diameter causes the nose of the shank to wear stick with genuine i tried the non genuine ones and the carbide was a lower grade not as hard or as tough as greenteeth

I dab a bit of weld on the holder

If you view the photo of the Two different teeth you will see the genuine one has a smaller shank, this is also to prevent wear on the locknut.

I know this is an old thread but I'm thinking of testing both genuine and non Greenteeth by running them alternate on my grinder wheel.

I bought what I thought were genuine teeth and was surprised to find they are the QRMS copies at the originals prices.

Oh well, so I'll give them a punt anyway.

Is this a reasonable way to test the longevity or will it be like mixing different makes of AA batteries, poor result guaranteed?

I have found that the QRM teeth are not as aggressive on a stump as the originals but last longer and if you hit hardcore you don't lose half a tooth as you can with the originals.

 

If you are working in sandy soil the greenteeth will grind the stump faster and last just as long but if you spend most of your time grinding stumps around bricks and concrete then the QRM teeth are the best.

I once had a stock of red teeth, the more profiled or sharper version of the green which I bought from Global.

I used these on certain poplars and conifers but not in stony conditions.

They made a big difference on larger fibrous stumps.

Are they still made?

Certainly Greeth teeth .co.uk don't stock them.

However they do talk about a new design which stays sharp as it wears.

Anyone tried these out?

mate of mine tried the wear sharps on one of those 13hp fsi grinders, rubbish, cracked in no time. I stic with qrms ones myself, £4 a tooth, happy days
