jam a pry bar in the catch and it snaps the lock. Its a 5 second job

 

 

Are the Brian James ones as bad?

Mine has an alko hitch on it I think would it be a good idea to change it or add more security?

Also is it when attached to vehicle or when stood on its own or both?

no.they have a barrel lock and a ball that you push up inside the coupling when its unhitched. You have to drill it out first to steal it a pry bar will do nothing

Fit an indespension triple lock if you want to be safe. They have a barrel lock, with a spring behind it. drills dont like springs, and when I had my trailer nicked with the key and I recovered it, I had to drill the lock so I could hitch it back up. An hour later and several snapped drills, job done!!

If I was going to steal a trailer, one without a barrel lock would get my attention!!

i never bother with the puny Ifor hitch lock, i always buy a Bulldog hitch lock and wheel clamp.

Here you go Jon clock this for a trailer . My mate popped in today with his triaxle IW with a crane fitted. He has just got it and wonders how he managed without one.
