forwarding trailers on the road

Not quite sure where to post this, but I guess it is equipment !

Does anyone know the ins and outs of using laden forwarding trailers behind a legal tractor on the road - can't think that I've ever seen one.

reason being that I have the opportunity to fell and extract a sizable amount of firewood timber (80 - 100 tons at a very rough guess) at a site that is only 3 miles from my yard.

It will probably need to be extracted from the felling site by forwader anyway, and I was wondering if it's possible/viable to trundle it all the way behind that tractor rather than offloading it and arranging for roadside pick up - trying to keep costs and handling to a minimum

I am aware of no problems I shifted 3 loads from wales to gloucester like that many years ago, took ages and I managed to get lost 2 miles down a single lane and could not turn around so reversed the whole length, took just over 1 hour. Those were the days
