I must have missed something, I didn't realise you now had a mill.

I have a couple of nice oak sticks I may want milling into 8x8 posts for a porch if you were interested ? but won't be until mid next year at the earliest.

Hi Keith,

The mill doesn't belong to me, it will be coming and going. Should be around late summer/autumn next year. Be happy to do them then.

Hi Village, Really sorry to deviate the thread slightly but what are your thoughts on the Log Arch now you have been using it? I have not used one before but thinking of getting the Quad version! Is it any good with bunches of smaller diameter logs?

Don't worry about the derail, it is a speciality of mine!

The arch is great, very strong and simple. The oak log in the picture is the best part of 5mtrs long and 2 1/2 ft wide so pretty hefty. The arch can carry it fully suspended.

The electric winch has proved useful for several other tasks. I haven't tried a bundle of smaller logs yet but I don't see that it would be an issue as long as they were well strapped when lifted or dragged. Pretty sure these arches will lift anything that fits between their wheels, bar my lunchbox of course!
