Never mind that.....C+H in wadebridge really are worth a try, even down your end of the county i should've thought- they do the insurance and they are experienced in tree work.:thumbup1:

 

i will be giving them a shout in the near future , i hve a couple of jobs to do . one is in plymouth and the other is down here . what size cranes are they running ?? when i say size a should say what is there lifting cappacity?

the one we got would lift 9 ton but could only lift 1 ton at full 25m reach.

they have bigger i believe

I agree wirth Ed on the dead stuff issue, I have gad pieces break off just from the vibrations of climbing the tree. Dead trees resonate at a much higher frequency then live ones and so a little repetetive movement lower down can lead to a big movement at the top. However craning the top off would surely have been better.

Good stuff,was that your 1st crane job? how u feel doin that? sounds like use r busy,

we got a crane job in nov bout 6 150ft lombardies, days work $10,000 thank you very much!( i wont be climbing sadly :( )

 

yeah adam was the first time i've worked with a crane really enjoyed doing it something a bit different and lots of lovely adrenaline buzzes :thumbup:.

real busy at the moment am working 6-7 day weeks and we're booked in to january its all go go go i like it when where busy keeps me out the pub ha lol.

the crown was dead as a dead thing for about two years due to some planting a great big garage under it so limbs had falling in the winds got to expect some damage on our part to but yeah caught out in that pics lol:tongue_smilie:

 

As the T Shirt says Sh#t happens . Dead trees when removing are a pain . Even when lowering limbs pieces are prone to breaking. Best you can do is minimise the damage . Looks like you did a great job with that Crane.Branches will break off a dead tree with just the movement of the climber .:001_cool:
