Ed's been banging on about how wonderfull mini loaders are for years then as soon as you all see one in a back garden you get all excited lol. You can have one for less than the price of a groundie for a year.

Run a two man team instead of three...these really are the future.

Awesome.

Too much to buy initially for a small company I reckon.

Does anyone hire similar in the South East? I would look to ramp up a few jobs for one on a week's hire.

I think if you had one of these you would be constantly finding new things to do with it.

I'd go for a heated cab version with Bruce Springsteen's greatest hits on continuous loop. That should take me nicely through to next spring....

mr edd will fill you in mate:thumbup:

the grapple is great, once we tied up the pipes. a rotator would make a HUGE difference. or if it could be locked into position at least. but someone with a welder and some bits of metal will soon sort that out

is that a bmg grapple?

i have one on my loader without a rotator,we welded a longer plate on the pickup plate with a higher section in the middle so it traps wood if you want to carry it straight out front, works great

top loader by the way, you'll wonder how you did without it:thumbup:

I agree that the machinery takes the manpower out of the job, but don't forget that the machine needs to be transported to the site.

Unless you are running a big chipper behind a lorry and can get all timber and arisings onto that in one load, you'll need an extra vehicle and driver to get the loader there.

I too am looking at something like this for a particular job, but no one hires in our area.

i work very locally big ammer, and 500quid gets it road legal. so it wont take long for the lad to bounce his way there. it is just a very diferent approach to each job, more thought needs to be put into them for it all to work, you cant beat manpower that is for sure, but we all know how hard that is to find and i cant guarantee lads work i am afraid

i can only do this now that i dont have full time lads and work approx 1 mile from the yard. financially i could of done with 2 of those jobs yesterday. but if i had kept my mog i would of had the chipper on the front and the loader on a trailer or linkage behind. but when you rely on one vehicle for everything then it raises your chances of problems. i have a good lad that i sub in who has a navara and ifor williams trailer. so he picks up and delivers my kit and grafts aswell. i just write his cheque at the end of the day and he does all the running about. i managed to get away early yesterday and go and do chores and he took everything back and put it all away with the other lad. job done
