Took missus's 13 plate focus in for a service to Ford dealership. Got a call it's to dangerous to drive. 2 tyres (3mm tread rears), worn discs and pads and new wiper blades. £690.

I was furious because the tyres have some life, I was sure brakes OK and wipers as well. Told them to leave as was.

Checked brakes this morning,

Hardly dangerous!

We had the same when the wife had an Audi s line they phoned to say it needed new pads ect the car was only a year or so old. I think they still believe they can try to fleece and women when they take the car in to the garage

See it all the time I work in an independent garage and get loads of folk getting ripped off my dealerships, it's because the mechanics are on a bonus they condemn brakes because the costumer thinks brakes are important better get them done, and they r easier to change for the mechanics ! They probably charge an hour and a half and u can do them in 20min it's easy money

Did they service the car? They usually charge for an oil change and advise you that you need all other bits done at more cost-like air filter pollen filter ect

I hate them tbh rip off bast@&Ds!!

It will say the min thickness of the disk around the middle somewhere too so you will be able to see how far away from it you are. Proberly by the looks of it miles away, there isn't even a lip on the discs
