Brushcutters ?? recomdations please

Ok guys not quite chainsaws but most of you are lightly to have a brushcutter for clearence work .

 

I have been looking at both Stihl and Huskys I must say the Husky 143R looks more robust then the Stihl equlivants .

 

What do you guys use Stihl / Husky ? what modle and how it performs for you .

I had a FS400 and was really happy with it till it got nicked and I replaced it with the Husky equivalent, as thats all I could get in a hurry. The Husky one seems a lot more tourqey and more powerful for the weight though. Its very robust, more so than the stihl.

 

Whichever you choose, I'd reccommend a Brogio head for it. Its a chain flail head and its load better than line or knives

i use the fs 480 great clearing saw it get hammered at times and still does what i ask off it

i have a kawasaki kbh48. good machine mine will have done atleast 500 hour now with no problems. there a bit cheaper price wise compaired to stihl, think they have 2 year warrenty as apossed to stihls 1 year to altho i could be wrong.

I have a kawasaki aswell bullit proof but getting a bit thin on the ground now,the stihl is not as adjustable as the kawasaki,and very thirsty as well,have a look at echos range and also tanaka,all realy good kit.

Husquvarna 345RX, farr better than the stihls both in terms of fuel use and vibration levels.

 

Mine is in daily use and copes perfectly.

i have a back pack stihll one, i have had it for about 6 years, it gets used once or twice a year to strim round the yard. it has never given me any probs and always starts after a couple of pulls. it has the auto feed head on it. i will sell it if you are looking to buy a second hand one if you like.

stick to husqvarna I run a 245rx and a265rx, both are animals

As for the brogio dont bother better off with a tri cut blade, will fit a husqvarna but only just, body of brogio to thick you could end up damaging the splines. the brogios I tried did not last more than an hour chains broke too much power I guess, what do you expect its Italian!!!
