Drowned refugee children

What has got me is the massive turn around by the right wing press, last week refugees were scum, this week the sun is fund raising for them. One photo and a social media reaction and they've all become philanthropic bastions of the oppressed.

I respect that everyone has their views on here and that's their right, though often polar opposites. So how do the more right leaning members feel about their media voices changing the tune? No disrespect to anyone but I find it staggering.

It disgusts me. Of the media, I'm not that fussed, of Cameron, I'm deeply disappointed. Hey-ho, that's politics.

Did you honestly think he was a decent man?

The party didn't get my vote Mr Eggs, but that had more to do with the local MP being a complete tit. There can be no respect for a PM that changes tack so quickly and so dramatically. It either means there was insufficient thought given to the initial stance or that the perceived public will is more important than being a leader and making the tough call. P poor!

I'm no fan of Cameron but think in this instance he's perhaps got it right... The UK will accept more refugees but they'll be from the camps in Lebanon etc, not the "queue jumpers" trying to bypass due process and go direct to Europe.

It's a mess and no easy answer but giving a green light to the smugglers to get as many people over the Mediterranean as possible is definitely not the way ahead.
