Ms150c not oiling

I've cleaned the tank out with fuel and still no oil.

Any tips?

Hoping its not the pump:(

Mine does this regularly and I use a airline and blow oil back in which seems to do the trick .

Pain in the arse it is.

I tried that, nothing!!

The hose is tiny inside, there's no way it can work efficiently in every corner of the tank!

I also don't want to pull the filter off as I'll never get it back on!

A good pair of long nose pliers does the trick getting filter off but its last chance saloon if you let go .

Try thining the chain oil with Aspen or petrol , thats what i do.

That's exactly the conclusion I arrived at yesterday. My Makita oil was too gloopy I suspect.

 

I've now got some Oregon in the tank but I may thin it with some diesel to get the old stuff 'flushed through'

We've been using plain old rapeseed oil in the saws (not just the 150) for a year or so now with no problems. The 150 does occasionally stop oiling but only because the bar seems to clog easy on some woods (Ash seems t be the worst).

 

Definitely think the thin oil can't hurt.

If flushing the tank and using thinned out oil doesn't clear it then pop the clutch off, remove the pump and check the oiler pinion and make sure the holes in the oil inlet and outlet on the pump are clear. It is also worth checking the breather and the oil pick up pipe and filter as well - it is often quicker to do this than trying other more obscure ways of clearing the issue!
