That's got to be a tree surgeon having a laugh. It could not get any worse could it. I bet she has one ash tree and wants the wood from that left in 6 in logs stacked round the front of the house.

Good luck to them - if theres just one person on the planet who is stupid enough they are laughing.

I couldn't resist sending a message saying it's worth a lot more than £5.00 though.

Got a reply!

'Oh really. I only put it as £5.00 as I just want to get rid of them. However, I might give it a go since no one has got back to me about it.'

You should tell her you can chop it down for £400 and she can keep the wood and sell it herself for £500 as people will be desperate for it already chopped up.

Get yourself some work out of it.

I suppose the seller means well and thinks that someone may heat their house for a few weeks after putting a bit of graft in to collect and process the wood.

The comment about paying for damage was probably a caviat to deter hoards of gypsies descending on her with MS170s and trampling her garden to shreds.

Maybe we are too quick to judge, since a fiver isn't much in today's terms.

How many nets of garage forecourt firewood can you score for a fiver? One?

Don't really see what the problem is, good luck to them if they get someone to take them.
