Home made pulley saver

I fancy making a pulley saver out of spare bits of kit but not too sure how to go about it really. I've got bits like unused length of 14mm blue yale rigging rope, some maillons, triple attachment rapids pulleys, loads of friction cords etc.. I could probably put something together but I think I'm a bit paranoid being that it will be the one thing that stops me from dropping to the floor!! Don't really have the money to buy a new 'Gucci' pulley saver, but feel I need one to help my ascents. Could anyone help me me some guidance, reassurance and even pics of your homemade ones?

Cheers

Matt

Darren's one is decent, there are plenty more here: http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=22472

I spent a lot of time and effort splicing mine:ImageUploadedByArbtalk1440932449.727956.jpg.d9503d6c0053837024da20972cead22b.jpg

Then I decided that for the money I'd rather have a Ropeguide. It works so much better than my homemade one, without the niggling doubt in my mind about my splicing capabilities.
